Back in 1992 architecture professor Terry Brown had an idea; To transform his basic bungalow into something straight out of a fairy tale. After about 14 years of work The Cincinnati Mushroom House was complete. This one of a kind toadstool inspired charmer is located on the corner of Erie Avenue and Tardis Avenue in Hyde Park. Unique spiraling staircases, thousands of shingles placed with painstaking precision and a cantilevered glass sun room create an otherworldly appearance.
Unique landscaping brimming with stonework and other colorful pieces round out this storybook showpiece. Unfortunately Professor Brown passed away in 2008 but his charming masterpiece lives on, capturing attention from everyone who passes by its unique exterior.
